Elizabeth Cooke is a dancer, arts administrator and entrepreneur based in New York City. Currently serving as the Communications Manager at New York Live Arts, she has previously worked at various American arts organizations including Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, José Limón Dance Company and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. A New York native, she began her dance training at age five at Oregon Ballet Theater in Portland, Oregon, and has performed across the United States, in Europe and in South America, in dance works and musicals (in both English and Spanish). After graduating from Emory University with degrees in Interdisciplinary Studies in Society and Culture (Concentration: Dance in the Media) and Dance, she moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she co-founded Narrative Tango Tours (NTT), a tango-tourism start-up. During her two years as Business Director, Cooke took concept to creation, designing and implementing product packages and client experiences that reached more than 800 people in NTT’s first season. Since April 2013, she has been a member of the highly selective Young Trustee Committee for Move This World, a non-profit using creative movement to address and transform conflict in schools around the world. Cooke speaks fluent Spanish and intermediate Portuguese. She is an active member of the vibrant dance and arts scene in NYC, and is always looking to connect with like-minded professionals.
